Summer of 69/f living in Fargo, ND with my daughter. I have a BA in Theatre from Bemidji State, 1990. I am divorced, a mother to three (2 daughters, 1 boy (an angel), and grandmother to two beautiful boys.

I enjoy reading, writing, theatre, movies, music. I worked in the administrative field for 17+ years, but took a break from that from 2007-2015 and worked as an overnight manager for a fast food restaurant. August 2016 I began working as a Customer Service Specialist for Blue Cross Blue Shield North Dakota. I have also work online from home as a chat & message board moderator since 2004.

I'm an adoptee and have found my birth family. I've lost a child. I've lost a parent when I was 21. My ex was a drug addict. My oldest was sexually abused at the age of 5. The in-law family member that committed the crime was incarcerated for 11 years.

I'm spiritual more than religious but am Christian. I was raised Lutheran, my husband is Catholic and I do attend Mass with him on occasion. My youngest will attend parochial school.

I'm a Libertarian and believe firmly in a person's rights as long as their interests are peaceful and honest. I'm a staunch supporter of Dru's Law, a law for a national sexual offender database. The man who abused my daughter was almost released without being extradited for a second state's sentence!

I believe in an adoptees right to his/her medical information and believe that adoption records should be open in these instances.

I am a writer journeying toward publication. I write romance and am a proud member of Romance Writers of America and several of its chapters.

I grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois. I attended Arlington High School 1983-84 before it closed and then John Hersey High School where I graduated in 1986, a year early. I am a proud alum of Bemidji State University, where I obtained my BA in Theater/Speech in May 1990. I moved back to the Arlington Heights area Fall 1991 after having my oldest. My mom died after a nearly 5 year bout with ovarian cancer Jan. 7, 1992.

I married my ex and moved to Apopka, Florida in 1996 with my 5.5 year old daughter and his 3.5 year old son. I had my son in March 1999, he died June 4, 2000. I lost custody of my daughter briefly because of his accidental death until I sufficiently jumped through the hoops the state required of me. We were blessed that her friend's mom (and a neighbor) took her in so I was able to see her regularly.

Divorced and looking to start over, I moved to Fargo in Fall 2001 where I am currently. I met a good man who I'm fortunate to have as my husband. We married July 27, 2003. We had a little girl June 2004, over 13 years separating my two girls. My husband adopted my oldest September 2004. Things changed in May 2006 when my (now) ex-husband lost his job of many years. I filed for divorce May 2015 after finding out that he'd known about our youngest daughter's threat of suicide and said and did nothing. It was a long process, but the divorce was finalized April 2016.

I have a pleasant relationship with not just my birth parents but their families as well. It's kind of like having a second family. Tack on my in-laws (my husband's 2 uncles have 13 kids between them) and it gets a little overwhelming trying to keep track of everyone. Between half/step brothers and sisters I have 26 nieces & nephews.

I have been fortunate enough to have a solid base of both good family and friends throughout my life. Most of the friends I have I've known since junior high and high school. (This is true for my brother also.) I never considered this to be odd until recently.

I have lots of interests, enjoy good conversation. So, feel free to drop me an IM or an email.

This journal is the personal journal of apckrfan. No FF updates will be posted here, just writings of various thoughts or occurrences. You're welcome to friend me, but this will probably be a pretty boring journal. Please see apckrfan for fan fiction updates, a list of fandoms and 'ships I care for. You can read fan fiction here on LJ at apckrfansfic or at my site.
